I don't know what it is about the month of August, but I am starting to dread it! Last year, we went 7 days with no power (no air- yuck) and a newborn baby. This year, we stood on our front porch and watched a freak flash flood attack our house. You almost have to laugh at our luck (or lack there of).
It happend so quickly- we were standing outside talking to our neighbors when the first raindrops fell. Then 20 minutes later we were on the porch watching a crazy storm come down and in a matter of minutes our driveway was flooded… 20 minutes later, it came up to John's knees and looked like a river around our house. Best part of the experience was when I called the city and said, our house is being surrounded by water because it is not draining into the sewers and the woman told me she would "put in a ticket"… :)

Between our house and our neighbor… This is when we started to realize something was wrong... |
| My husband trying to clean the drain- gotta love him! |
| This was minutes later, see the planter floating away |
| In between our houses again…. Like a river |
| It floated from the back of our house out front….. |
| Our back yard, it moved Landon's play place |
| Craig :) |
| This would be our driveway |
This is the one that breaks my heart- our basement WITH DIRT IN IT :( |
| It was actually starting to go down here- thank goodness |
I think we have had our share of "adventure" for this month… maybe all hurricanes could stay away this year??? MAYBE? :)
